APAvadis is developing products for innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Such modular systems will be assembled from 3 molecules with the following characteristics:

  1. AN ADDRESSER: a short peptide, with binding selectivity for the following targets:
    1. Aminopeptidase A, a human transmembrane molecule over-expressed in angiogenic blood vessels and functionallyinvolved in tumor angiogenesis;
    2. Epithelial/endothelial cells in human liver metastases secondary to colorectal cancers;
  2. A CARRIER: a biocompatible nanocarrier for the controlled delivery of the active molecules, one of the following depending on the application:
    1. PEG-liposomes for the veiculation of chemotherapeutic agents;
    2. Filamentous phages or silica core-shell nanoparticles for nanoshuttle veiculation of diagnostic agents.
  3. AN ACTIVE MOLECULE, one of the following categories:
    A THERAPEUTIC AGENT:
    1. Prototype chemotherapeutics for system validation;
    2. Disease-specific chemotherapeutics for target applications;

    A DIAGNOSTIC AGENT:
    1. New generation fluorophores emitting in the red/infrared spectral region;
    2. Gold and silica nanoparticles for fluorescence enhancement and direct Raman spectroscopy detection.
